Schools featured in our rankings demonstrate a commitment to high-quality education for their students. Quality is measured and weighted through various data points that are specific to each ranking topic. Each methodology drives proprietary calculations, which are grounded in statistical information, and developed to recognize academically robust, affordable colleges and programs. Sponsored school listings are separate, paid advertisements and are clearly marked with a "SPONSORED" tag to distinguish them from editorially ranked schools. Our school rankings are editorially determined, independently vetted, and are not influenced by schools that pay for advertisements. For questions regarding our rankings or sponsored schools, please email us at email@example.com.
Some schools automatically deduct tuition and housing payments from the disbursements, and provide students with the remaining balance. Other colleges disburse all of the financial aid, requiring students to make tuition and housing payments themselves. The aid money that is left over may be used for books, food, transportation, and personal expenses.
There are many different ways students can pursue an excellent education at the University of Virginia. Students who study on campus have access to many different schools, each with their own set of accredited degrees. Also useful for students is the online education offered by UVA. Because of the size and scope of the school, UVA offers different types of online programs. One popular option is their School of Continuing and Professional Studies, best for students that want to further their career either with a bachelor's degree, graduate degree or certificate. Also available is a master's degree in engineering. UVA is considered to be one of the best online schools in the nation for an online master's in engineering, so students who want to earn a graduate degree that fits their schedule may find this is the perfect fit.
The Savannah College of Art and Design eLearning experience balances flexibility with structure. Students can access lectures and course materials on their own schedules (in an asynchronous format) while completing assignments by designated due dates and participating in online class sessions. And students have access to cutting-edge technology and extensive student services like the Writer’s Studio, Academic Advising, and Counselling Services.
In some cases, individual programs may also be accredited by an independent board. One example is the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, which evaluates academic programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. These agencies assess the competence of both on-campus and online degree programs giving students the peace of mind that their school's department offers a reputable program. Some state-level professional certifications require that students graduate from a program with programmatic accreditation.
As you might guess, the reasons are many—among them is the problem is that acquiring counseling services is too difficult! For instance, for a potential client to connect with a provider in person he/she must: Call a counseling center, leave a message, be available for a return call, schedule an appointment by phone, find their insurance information, wait days or weeks for a first session, drive to that session, arrive in a presentable fashion on time or early…all while perhaps going through a personal hardship or crisis. Frankly, it sounded awful to us. We aspire to make the experience of seeking help, for counselor or coaching, a much (much) improved process.

It can provide access to those who can’t get to an office. In some rural communities, the nearest psychologist office may be an hour or two drive away. Some people with chronic illnesses or disabilities may not be able to drive or easily able to leave their home. In these situations, Web- or telephone-based therapy may be their only option for help.

At risk of sounding too obvious, I say, “Online, of course.” You can begin your search for a distance counselor at GoodTherapy.org. Many therapists who list with GoodTherapy.org offer distance therapy, and this will be noted in the therapist’s profile, along with types of therapy practiced and their specific approach to treatment. You can also look into websites specifically created to help people find online behavioral health care. A simple Google search will yield many options (and you may wish to compare ratings and customer feedback before settling on any one service or provider). Any of these sites will display therapist profiles and information about their therapy orientation and modalities offered, fees, and time availability.

The owner of the memex, let us say, is interested in the origin and properties of the bow and arrow. Specifically he is studying why the short Turkish bow was apparently superior to the English long bow in the skirmishes of the Crusades. He has dozens of possibly pertinent books and articles in his memex. First he runs through an encyclopedia, finds an interesting but sketchy article, leaves it projected. Next, in a history, he finds another pertinent item, and ties the two together. Thus he goes, building a trail of many items. Occasionally he inserts a comment of his own, either linking it into the main trail or joining it by a side trail to a particular item. When it becomes evident that the elastic properties of available materials had a great deal to do with the bow, he branches off on a side trail which takes him through textbooks on elasticity and tables of physical constants. He inserts a page of longhand analysis of his own. Thus he builds a trail of his interest through the maze of materials available to him.
